Transformer oil will not gather moisture because hermetic transformers do not get in contact with air. Thus hermetic transformers may last longer than the transformers with expansion tanks.
In hermetic transformers the height is low, because they do not have expansion tanks. This allows installation in smaller areas. It is particularly advantageous in compact transformer centers.
